Adopting a cat from Huey's Rescue is a simple, thoughtful process designed to find the best match for both you and the cat. Whether this is your first rescue adoption or your fifth, here is a step-by-step look at how it works.

Step #1: Browse our cats
You can meet our adoptable cats in two ways. Visit our cattery at PetCo Temecula any day during store hours to see our cats in person, or browse our available cats online at hueysrescue.org. Each cat's profile includes their name, age, personality, and any special needs.
We also hold adoption events every Saturday from 10 AM to 4 PM at PetCo Temecula. These are the best time to come by, meet our team, ask questions, and spend time with the cats.
Step #2: Submit an application
Found a cat you are interested in? Fill out our feline adoption application on our website. The application asks about your living situation, experience with pets, household members, and what you are looking for in a cat. This helps us make sure the cat you are interested in is a good fit for your home and lifestyle.
Our team reviews every application carefully. This is not about being picky. It is about setting up both you and the cat for a successful, lasting match.
Step #3: Meet & Greet
Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet and greet. This is your chance to spend one-on-one time with the cat and see if the connection is right. Meet and greets are arranged with the foster family at an appropriate location.
Step #4: Welcome Home
If everything goes well at the meet and greet, you can finalize the adoption and bring your new family member home. We will provide you with information about the cat's medical history, diet, and personality to help with the transition.
What Is Included
Every cat adopted from Huey's Rescue comes fully vetted:
Spayed or neutered
Up to date on vaccinations
Microchipped
FIV/FeLV tested
Treated for any medical needs during their time in foster care
Adoption Fees
Adoption fees vary depending on the cat's age and medical history. The fee helps cover the cost of veterinary care, which often far exceeds the adoption fee itself. Every dollar goes directly back into saving more cats.
After Adoption Support
We do not disappear after adoption day. Our team is always available if you have questions about your new cat's behavior, health, or adjustment. We want every adoption to be a success, and we are here to support you through the transition and beyond.
Ready to find your perfect match? Visit hueysrescue.org to see our available cats or stop by PetCo Temecula to meet them in person.
